River Oaks Community
Clean-up Initiatives
Motto:
" Crush the Trash in ROCA"
Discussion:
Those of us who walk every morning have seen a decline in the ROCA's natural
beauty from all the trash and graffiti that is beginning to litteer our
community. We therefore, with the aid and support from LeRoy F Greene Mid
School, City Graffiti department, and Councilman Tretheway's office have set in
play on-going anti-trash and anti-graffiti campaigns to show those who desire to
trash our neighborhoods that it just will not be tolerated.
Two Initiatives
have begun:
Anti Graffiti
Days:
-
Crush Graffiti
Day: Every day is a good day to stop graffiti! We are
continually monitoring graffiti in our community. Past initiatives
have been very successful and we have caught the handful of adolescents who
have been marking up our parks and street signs and ploes. All
materials have been and will continue to be supplied. A commemorative shirt,
supplied by the Department of General Services will be given to the
participants of our next focused effort or event. Stay tuned to ROCA's
home page for announcements.
