SHOREBIRD AND RIVER OTTER PARKS

GRAND OPENINGS

Shorebird and River Otter Parks were jointly planned for the enjoyment of residents
surrounding West River and Barandas and residing within the Shorebird at Riverbend
Development.

The Grand Openings occurred in June of 2006.  Shorebird Park was completed with
the exception of the re-working of the "natural habitat" area on the eastern edge.

River Otter Park was named by one of the students at Two Rivers Elementary during
a "Name that Park" contest.  Carmen is shown in the picture of the monument sign.
River Otter's second phase will include a shade shelter and a 4' fence at roadside.
Some of the neighbors have asked the Parks and Recreation Department to supply
materials for a small playground.  They are willing to erect the equipment under the
Department's guidance.
